Paddle Buffalo Creek with Canoe Susquehanna staff and members of the Buffalo Creek Watershed Alliance. The lower creek is an outstandingly beautiful paddle in the late spring. Narrow, with a canopy of trees, the character of Buffalo Creek contrasts quite a bit with the more wide-open feel of our Susquehanna River paddling trips.

Because of low summer water levels, we aren't able to guide trips on Buffalo Creek later in the season. So, don't miss your chance to experience this unique tributary. Be sure to sign up for one of our Buffalo Creek Trips today!

If creek conditions permit, we will paddle from the village of Mazeppa, Pennsylvania, to St. George St. in Lewisburg. We'll provide an early take-out option at Strawbridge Road for anyone who does not wish to paddle the entire 9 miles.

Before we launch our canoes & kayaks onto Buffalo Creek, the Quant family will share information about paddling techniques, safety issues, etc.

Be sure to bring a lunch for eating en route.

These trips benefit the Buffalo Creek Watershed Alliance.

Registration is just $20/person and the use of a Canoe Susquehanna Kayak is also just $20/person (total of $40/person). We've got lots of great boats to choose from. Check out the Our Canoes and Kayaks page to help decide which model you would prefer.

If you plan to bring your own canoe or kayak, please note that DCNR or FBC registration stickers are not required for this trip. However, please review the other rules on the Bring Your Own Boat page.

May 5 pre-trip shuttle

If you are using Canoe Susquehanna paddling equipment, please meet the Canoe Susquehanna shuttle bus at the St. George St., Lewisburg take-out.  Plan to board the bus at 12 Noon for transport to the Johnson Mill Rd., Mazeppa put-in.  

If you are using your own paddling equipment, please unload all of your gear and extra people at the Johnson Mill Rd., Mazeppa put-in.  Our staff will be on site about 11 AM to keep an eye on your gear. Drivers Only, please meet our shuttle bus at the St. George St., Lewisburg take-out.  Plan to board the bus at 12 Noon for transport to the Johnson Mill Rd., Mazeppa put-in.  

Please note that the timing for the May 5 trip allows paddlers to enjoy the 10 AM Eel/Mussel presentation at Strawbridge Rd. Bridge Access prior to meeting the paddle trip shuttle bus!
